The second day in Jailolo was started with devotion shared by Ps. Chris. He asked the team what we have learned so far in this summer mission. Learning how to lean on GOD fully and the power of prayer was what most widely mentioned. The weather during the crusade was something that is totally out of our control but despite getting discourage and giving up, the team learned to lean fully on GOD and pray hard for a miracle to come.
The team went around the area for a door to door evangelism as well as to get to know the local people better. One of the team lead by Yanuar came across the house of a ten years old girl (Nona) with a tumor in her head. For her whole life she had never been able to sit let alone walk due to her abnormally big and heavy head. It was heartbreaking to see a bible placed right beside her and to know that her mum read the bible to her every single day. Her mum even mentioned that Nona loves to hear her read the bible to her. The team felt a huge burden to pray for Nona and her mum. The presence of the Lord was so thick among us when we prayed for them. By fact, Nona was not healed but by faith, we believed that she is healed. We believe that it was not a coincidence and that God wants us to pray for this little girl. 24 people received Jesus during this door to door evangelism.
65 people attended the Love, Sex and Dating seminar held that afternoon with eagerness to learn. At the same time, Mr. Jemmy led the business seminar and about 35 people attended. For the first time in this Mission trip that God gave us a good weather for the crusade. The Children Ministry commenced the crusade with a puppet show for the Children. The children watched with high anticipation as Annette, Adit and Stevano acted the puppet show. There were about 50 children who came to the front of the stage and watched the show, and all of them received Jesus Christ as their savior. 3500 attended the crusade, about 300 people received Jesus Christ as their savior and about 5 people were healed. One woman had swollen eyes and during the crusade was healed.
After the crusade, we surprised one of our brother Yohanes for his birthday party. Ignoring him and pretending to forget his birthday was part of our plan (as a substitute to the original plan of having Ko Mike fire him as the program manager and sending him home). Our plan did work as he thought of having noone (including his family members as there was no phone signal in the area) to wish him Happy Birthday, He mentioned how God gave him a good weather and a smooth crusade as his birthday present. Overall, it was a great night for all of us.
