It was the last day of our mission in Sahu as well as the last day for 3 of our team members. As part of our farewell session, we head to Susupu beach. Despite the short 10 days, the whole team bonded in ways we could never imagine and having Charlina, Stacy and Mr Jemmy to leave the team was not an easy moment. Ps. Chris shared to us about faithfulness in following Christ, that we have gone through half of this mission trip and there was more for us to unveil. The team then gave a farewell message for our brothers and sister who would not continue the journey to Kalimantan with us. We took turn to share and gave words of thank you and encouragement. It was really a heart moving moment.
However, our time in Sahu was not over yet. The team continued to give seminars to the youths. At this session, Mr. Jemmy gave illustrations on how to avoid temptations and the influence of current media on sex. Through Question and Answer session, it was revealed that there is a gap between the youths and the pastoral team in the local church. Information on youths restriction was not well communicated hence, the youths question the reason for not being able to do this or that. Instead of following the restriction, they tend to rebel against it. Mr. Jemmy spoke to the pastoral team present on behalf of the youths and explained the importance of a close relationship with trust and communication.
The team head back to the field for the last crusade in Sahu. The rain was pouring down that afternoon but by God’s grace, the rain had stopped by the time we start setting up. The team gave their best in the last crusade in Sahu. 4500 people attended the crusade and 4000 committed their lives to Christ while 20 people were healed in this Crusade.
The team started packing up all of the equipment after the crusade for Sintang. The trip to Sintang was going to be a lengthy and tiring one but nonetheless, the team was excited to see what is to come.
