Day 7 July 20, 2008 – Tobelo

It was Sunday, and it was the last day of our mission in Tobelo. The team was divided into small groups of 2 or 3 people and they were sent to preach and share their life testimony to different churches in Tobelo, such as, IFGF GISI, GKI, GBI, etc. Some of the team members learn how to preach for the very first time. Despite being nervous, the team members were willing to be the channel of blessing to the local churches and by God’s grace and anointing, they manage to preach to those churches. In total about 1300 people came to the Sunday services in separate churches. Praise the Lord about 55 people in total, they responded to altar call.

In the afternoon, the team found a spare time to relax and spend quality time to get to know each other better and Tagalaya beach was the perfect spot. We had our lunch there followed by devotion which was led by Mr. Jemmy Pranyoto. He shared about the conflict that often happens in ministry nowdays and how it also happened back in the Biblical times. Paul and Barnabas was an example. They did ministry together for quite sometimes however, disagreement emerged between them that resulted in the two apostles going their own separate way. Mr Jemmy shared how we have to manage these conflicts by forgiving and accepting the other party’s mistakes and that as one body of Christ, we have to put our differences asside and work in one unity. The message shared was indeed convicting to some of the team members. We were thankful that conflict does not exist in our team and we prayed that our team would work in unity for the rest of the mission trip.

The overall trip to the beach was entertaining. The view from beach was extremely breathtaking, the water was as clear as a crystal. Some of the team members (mostly the male) jumped from the dock to swim; Pastor Christpopher Chan was one of them.

Back from the beach, we ministered at the evening Sunday service in IFGF GISI Tobelo and about 60 people came to the service. Most of them were children from the orphanage. Praise the Lord about 25 people received Jesus Christ as a savior.
